Flamingo

Anonymous chat for KIIT students

Flamingo lets KIIT students talk to each other without names: join group rooms, meet someone new in a random one-to-one chat, and keep the conversations you want to keep.

Group roomsCreate a room or join one with an invite code, and chat with everyone in it.
Random chatsGet matched with another student for a one-to-one chat. If you both choose to keep it, it stays in your inbox; otherwise it disappears from your screen when it ends.
Verified matchingStudents who confirm their KIIT Google account can choose to be matched by gender.
Safety toolsReport or block anyone. Reports are reviewed, and accounts that break the rules can be banned.

Anonymous to other students

Everyone appears under a pseudonym, such as "Swift Fox". You can use Flamingo as a guest with no account details at all. Signing in with Google is optional: it is used only to confirm that you have a KIIT email address, and other students never see your email or your Google account.

Anonymous to other students does not mean invisible to us. The privacy notice says exactly what Flamingo stores, including the fact that messages are kept on our servers even after a chat disappears from your screen.

Status

Flamingo is in a closed beta with a small group of KIIT students. It is a student project built and run by Aranya Dutta, not a company.
